THE FRIENDLY SKIES OF UNITED

The full story of this saga can be found here.

Oh, the stories I could tell about the many flights I’ve taken on United Airlines (and American Airlines)…enough for a multitude of posts!

By the way: In the U.S. Department of Transportation’s tally of lost, damaged, delayed or pilfered baggage in April 2009, United ranked 10th among 19 carriers, with 13,517 “baggage reports” among 4.03 million passengers.

Here’s United Airlines rules and regulations for lost and damaged baggage.

After all,  United Airlines offers  friendly skies….they never said anything about friendly service.

  1. So little liability, so much time. Oh, to be a corporation. My mind boggles at just how much shit I could fuck up old school. ;-)

  2. Great topic, Mary Ann…and good point, Randal. Looking back at all the f-ups I have accumulated in my lifetime, I have just realized that I missed my calling. I should have worked for an airline.

  3. Randal- Personally, I think I would be great working as a customer service rep for United Airlines. I can smile sweetly :-) and inform the passenger who lost their luggage or who’s luggage was damaged while it was being put on the plane that if they cared enough about their belongings, they wouldn’t have checked their luggage in the first place. And just think, I could get paid for doing that!

Hi Border Explorer! I think of you list all you f-ups on your resume, United would pay you more for your experience. Nice to see ya again! ;-)

  4. I’ve always said that without offering oral sex, United’s slogan was false advertising, and it accounts for their slumping ticket sales.

  5. Hi, poking my head in to your funny blog here.

  6. Sorry I haven’t gotten back to answering these comments. I know I’ve been doing a real shitty job with this blog lately…too much going on at home. Looks like I’ll be getting a little more free time, though.

Shtuey- After watching the news about that Southwestern flight that ended up with a gaping hole in the ceiling after take off…I’m not sure if any airline is safe. I always liked Southwestern, too!

Maggie- Hi! Thanks for stopping in and checking out the blog. I’m sorry this took me so long to answer and I promise I’ll stop over at your blog to say hello. I just opened up a new blog, which you could find on my sidebar, if you get into cooking and stuff.

Stop by again…I’ll still be posting here. ;-)
